Juno Teams With The Black World Today

To Provide Web Access to African-Americans

NEW YORK, NY (October 30, 2000) -- Juno Online Services, Inc. (Nasdaq: JWEB) today announced that it has signed an agreement with The Black World Today (www.blackworldtoday.com), the Internet’s premier destination site for [GB1] African-Americans, to create a co-branded Internet access offering.  Juno is the nation's third-largest provider of dial-up Internet services, after AOL and EarthLink, with 3.7 million active subscribers in the month of September.  Blackworldtoday.com is the leading full-service black portal on the Internet, visited by close to 500,000 people each month.

A co-branded version of the Juno software is now available for download from the Black World Today Web site.  Additionally, The Black World Today will be marketing the co-branded service to its extensive database of African-Americans who have registered with the site, and plans to distribute CD-ROMs containing the Juno software to African-American educational institutions, churches and non-profit organizations nationwide over the coming months.

New subscribers to the co-branded service can choose Juno Web, Juno’s premium dial-up service, for $9.95/month, or (in selected markets) Juno Express, Juno’s high-speed broadband service, for $49.95/month.  Subscribers will automatically see The Black World Today as their home page rather than the standard Juno portal site, www.juno.com.  Under the terms of the agreement, The Black World Today will receive a one-time bounty for each subscriber that signs up for the co-branded service and continues using it for a specified period.

“By working with The Black World Today, we have an opportunity to bring Juno to the attention of a large and important audience that we believe will find great value in our service,” said Charles Ardai, Juno’s president and CEO. “This is an important step toward making the Internet truly available to all and ensuring that our services satisfy a constituency as diverse as our society as a whole.”

“The main focus of The Black World Today is communication and access.  Juno helps to enhance that focus by enabling the African-American community to keep informed about our people and the world at large,” said Don Rojas, CEO of The Black World Today.  “Juno has provided us with an economical service that our current visitors, as well as those African-Americans who don’t yet have access to the Internet, can take advantage of to experience our site and be an integral part of our online community. We call on African American businesses, churches, institutions and organizations to partner with us in massively distributing the CDs with the Juno ISP software across the country.”
